Case Study: SomnoMed re-brand project

SomnoMed is a global company, producing comfortable and medically proven oral appliances to help patients treat sleep apnea effectively.

In October of 2020, I was contacted by the Senior Global Marketing Manager at SomnoMed to produce the company’s new brand guidelines and other collateral ahead of their global company rebrand in 2021. SomnoMed wanted to update the look and feel of the company’s branding while unifying its identity globally. The Issue SomnoMed had, was different countries were running different designs and colour variations, leading to mixed messaging and identities across countries.

The SomnoMed project consisted of 3 main phases:

  • Create a new logo suite for the SomnoMed logo (same overall logo design, but with unified colours and fonts). This phase of the project also included creating logo suites for the 19 sub-brands within the company umbrella.
  • Create a 60-page brand guideline document for distribution amongst staff and stakeholders, containing the new logo designs, new collateral designs and company information.
  • Create InDesign template files for all staff to use, to keep everything streamline and in line with the new guidelines across all countries. The templates included: Business card, letterhead, with compliment slip, email signature, pull up banners, fabric media banner, PowerPoint presentation, brochures, social media banners, background graphics and an icon set.
